The Annual Swimwear Awards are a Juried Awards competition that rewards the Top Women’s, Men’s, and Special Interest Swimwear of the Year. Designs from across the globe are entered into this competition and reviewed by an international panel of judges, who vote on which they consider to be the “Top Swimwear of the Year.”

In addition, the three “Top Swimwear” award winners from this competition are given the title, “Official Swimwear Partner of the TASTE AWARDS.”

We know that there is always a need to find a great swimsuit, and there are hundreds of brands from which to chose. So we narrowed it down to a few criteria, from which we could recommended The Best in each category.

These categories are:

  • Women’s Swimwear
  • Men’s Swimwear
  • Special Interest Swimwear (eg. special sizes or functions)

The Top swimwear was judged based on its style, design, attractiveness, and utility.

Here are our picks for Summer 2016, and they have earned the 2016 Swimwear Awards.

WOMEN’S SWIMWEAR: DRIP SWIMWEAR

Drip Swimwear has taken a new approach to tailoring for the variety of curves and angles of women’s bodies. With the multiple versions in which each suit can be worn, this has given their swimsuits a level of versatility and comfort that is missing from many swimsuit designs.

MEN’S SWIMWEAR: TOM & TEDDY

Tom & Teddy swim trunks are cool and colorful. Unlike some men’s shorts, they are not designed to hide in the background. Rather, they are meant to be seen, as well as the guys who are wearing them.

So if a man just wants to kick back at the pool, he’s good. But if he wants to jump on a board and para-sail into the horizon, you can be sure that world will be watching.

SPECIAL INTEREST SWIMWEAR: JUST BONES BOARDWEAR

What we love about is that they are designed to look good, be stylish, provide a range of awesome patterns, and handle a variety of water and land activities. But we love even more that they allow boys and girls (kids, preteens, teens and even toddlers) to look as on point as their older siblings, or perhaps even parents.

When someone wears Just Bones, people assume they’re about to do something fancy on a board or a bike. Having people hold their breath to watch is a powerful incentive.

Some of the fitting options are useful too, like many that have the 4-way stretch adjustable waistband feature, and for girls the short cut and mid-thigh lengths.

Tip: Just Bones swim shorts also come in Men’s size, and although the female sizes are only for girls and teens, they do fit Size 0-2 ladies. We hope they expand the product line to include other women’s sizes as well.
