ARTISAN JERKY AWARDS: 2nd Annual

The world is full of fantastic, delicious, and innovative jerky. That’s why we’ve tasted some of the best, and here’s what we found.

The 2nd Annual Juried Awards competition rewards the Top Artisan Jerky creations of the Year.

Products from the around the globe are entered into this competition, and are sent to a select panel of food & wine media and industry judges located throughout North America. This panel tastes, reviews and votes on which they consider to be the “Top Artisan Jerky of the Year.”

In addition, the top “Best Jerky” award winners from this competition are given the title, “Official Jerky Partner of the TASTE AWARDS.”

New Zealand Jerky Inc.’s Original: Loved this and the teriyaki. While other companies had interesting jerky, this is the one I’d turn to for daily craving. Alien Fresh: That Colon Cleaner Hot really brings on the heat. Fun! Bayou Blend: Enjoyed your variety, and the gumbo really had that sausage flavor. Golden Island: the Korean Barbecue was both unique and tasty.

Pure Provisions – BRAVO on blending subtle, refreshing flavor with a decidedly non-subtle or refreshing type of food product. Orange-Ginger is exquisite, and Jamacian-Style is a close second. Texture was soft and enjoyable. Adorable and useful packaging. I will certainly purchase this. Alien – your Filet Mignon Honey Teriyaki Beef is to die for, and the Sweet & Spicy comes in a delicious 2nd. Amazing flavors with pleasant, soft texture, and I will certainly purchase. Salt, Fire & Time Citrus Cured Beef – Delicious taste, but what amazing texture! I absolutely love the crispiness. I will definitely purchase this.
