BABYMETAL To Play with Red Hot Chili Peppers
Japanese heavy metal/teen-pop phenom, BABYMETAL has announced that they will be supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers on select dates of their U.S. Tour in April this year. Their support dates will kick off on April 12th in Washington D.C. and wrap up in Miami on April 29th – full list of dates below. This string of U.S. dates follow BABYMETAL’s UK run with RHCP in December.
This announcement comes on the heels of other monumental performances.This month, BABYMETAL will also be supporting METALLICA in Seoul, South Korea on January 11th, and supporting GUNS N’ ROSES on 4 dates of their Japan Reunion tour, starting on January 21st.
BABYMETAL released their critically acclaimed album METAL RESISTANCE in 2016, which charted in the Top 40 of the US Billboard chart making BABYMETAL the first Japanese artist in 53 years to have made the charts and the second in history. They’ve attained countless achievements such as being the first Japanese artist to headline at The UK Wembley Arena, as well as performing with the Metal God, Rob Halford from Judas Priest. They recently had their biggest show ever performing in front of 110,000 people over a span of 2 days at the prestigious Tokyo Dome.
The world embraced BABYMETAL in 2016, with a late night TV debut in the US on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and attention from the likes of The New York Times, VOGUE, Vanity Fair, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, Teen Vogue and Esquire.
