TasteTV and TCB Cafe Publishing and Media LLC have opportunities for Interns.

We are looking for a creative and intelligent person(s) to join our team for the summer. Candidate should have a professional demeanor and be highly motivated to learn through real hands-on experience. Interns will support our marketing, public relations, branding, product development, social media strategy, and business development in publishing and television, including media plans and contacts, events planning and management, market research, partnership management, and other marketing & PR skills that are critical for any marketing professional, regardless of product type.

  • Interns are expected to be able to conduct professional interviews, discussions, telephone calls and emails, and follow-up on projects with guided instruction but without micromanagement. 
  • Intern should be comfortable speaking with people in positions of authority, as well as those who are more lifestyle oriented.
  • Interns should be able to brainstorm and analyze, then execute and follow-through. 
  • Interns must be able to work with a diverse and multicultural set of topics and people.
  • Interns should feel comfortable using the Internet as well as other sources for research.

The projects on which you will work will be real-life marketing & PR activities that will increase your abilities and experience, give you confidence, and teach you the practical nature of lessons that you may have learned in school. Having an appreciation of food, style, travel, design and music is useful.

The internships are paid. College credit is available.

Internships can begin as early as June 7, and are planned for 10 weeks into August. Current hours are 10 hours per week, with flexible work schedules allowed during the day. Location is not important, this is a Remote internship. 

Examples of Projects: The intern will be able to contribute to projects with either TasteTV’s weekly food and travel television series, TASTEABLE CALIFORNIA (www.Tasteable.com), or on its annual, CALIFORNIA MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS (www.MusicalVideoAwards.com).

This Intern role is paid, and requires 10 dedicated hours per week for 10 weeks. This role is to be considered as an opportunity to:

We are looking for people who are highly motivated, have the vision to see the big picture of what we are building, want the experience and are excited to learn to help their future careers and direction.

Enrolled Students over 19 years are welcome, and may use this as a project to receive academic credit.

Students may also be able receive a written letter of recommendation for their resumes from TasteTV. If your school allows you to receive academic credit, we will endorse it as well.

This is a REMOTE off-location internship (from home or school, not in-office)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • These will be unique real-world opportunities with hands-on experience on actual media projects.
  • These include television, awards, events, publications, online, etc.
  • Intern will also be contacting press and publications relations departments for various business objectives.
  • Help organize and manage various marketing promotions and PR campaigns
  • Assist in production of television and other programs by reaching out to interview subjects, brands, organizations, the media.
  • Market Research, typically online but other may be required.
  • Implementation and development of social media strategies.
  • The Intern will need to be proficient with using the Internet; have access to transportation if they need it (possible but not mandatory); internship is via a virtual office (not on-site, but with direct management and guidance by company leadership); have at least a B-grade average; be able to commit at 10/ fully dedicated and productive hours a week; have the ability to follow through on projects, ask questions, raise issues or ideas when needed, and meet all accepted deadlines.
  • In the case of television appearances , etc. completing the Appearance Agreement

Interns will also need to complete the Independent Representative Agreement. This guarantees that if the Intern creates a unique situation where revenue is generated directly and solely through their efforts, such as with a Sponsor or Partner, then they will receive a commission. (note: Simply appearing on the programs as a correspondent is not however considered a revenue generating situation)

  • Must be an Enrolled Student in College
  • Must be over 19 years of age
  • Remote access, and ability to use the internet.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally online, in person, and on the telephone
  • Ability to self-manage and deliver results on time.
  • A track record of success
  • Absolute and complete professional that reflects positively on our firm
  • Short bio and photo for the website.
  • Ability to ask questions early when things are not understood.
  • Provide own equipment (and transportation if required).
  • Conduct professional discussions, telephone calls and emails, and follow-up on projects without micromanagement.
