GREEN BURGERS: Creative Vegetarian Recipes for Burgers and Sides, by Martin Nordin

There was a time when trying to find a vegetarian burger that did not taste like sawdust was as easy as climbing the Himalayas. In other words, it took a lot of work. Fortunately Martin Nordin’s GREEN BURGERS not only takes all of the work out of making a great burger, but it also rewards you with awesome flavors.

Martin does an excellent job of presenting not just good burgers, but actually delicious burgers of all types. He uses a range of ingredients to build these sandwiches, including quinoa, portobella, and even peas.

In addition to burgers, he also has a number of side dishes, such as roasted sweet potato chips with grated Swiss cheese, fennel and carrot coleslaw, and even homemade pickles and ketchup. This selection means that you can actually have a complete meal and not just a snack for yourself, your friends, or your family.

BTW, most of the recipes can be made vegan by simply removing or substituting dairy or eggs. There’s nothing stopping the vegans out there from diving right into this culinary tome.

As a popular poster on Instagram, Martin Nordin’s photography is fantastic, and of course all of the images and colors can be called, “Instagram worthy.”

THE DIRTY VEGAN COOKBOOK: Your Favorite Recipes Made Vegan, by Catherine Gill

In theory there is nothing ‘dirty‘ about being a vegan, unless of course you pair it with a little ‘after meal‘ activity. The author, Catherine Gill, says that reason why she is the Dirty Vegan is mostly because she doesn’t automatically equate vegan eating with being a dieter or a “clean eater.” She simply wants to greatly enjoy her food and her meals while keeping her standards for not-harming animals.

The author’s basic premise is that “You can veganize anything!” This book is definitely an expression of her rising to that challenge. Self-styled as “vegan junk food”–healthy vegan food that doesn’t skimp on taste–Dirty Vegan is a celebration of all the amazing tastes and dishes available to those on vegan diets.

Dirty Vegan lets you prepare delicious vegan cuisine that anyone and everyone can enjoy, and showcases the sheer variety of amazing recipes you can create, all while remaining vegan.  Dirty Vegan makes it easier than ever to live the vegan lifestyle, featuring delicious recipes that use common ingredients available in any grocery store.

Dirty Vegan features over 100 recipes, including: Vegan Ravioli Dippers, Avocado and “Bacon” Cheese, Cheddar Bread Ring, S’mores Pancake, “Steak” Tips and Sweet Potatoes, Italian Wedding Soup, Vegan Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Blossoms and many more.
