ROSE OF THE DAY: Handley 2019 Pinot Noir Rose

Our Rose of the Day pick is the HANDLEY 2019 PINOT NOIR ROSE. The reason is simple, the TasteTV wine reviewers love it!

The color is enticing, and absolutely speaks “Rose” to the eye. The taste is light, crisp, and bright, with a slight sweetness and traces of citrus fruits and yellow stone fruits like nectarines.

This rose is made with Pinot Noir grapes that Handley planted in 1990 in the cooler areas of Northern California’s Anderson Valley, and are now being harvested for the vintage. They put a lot of care into the destemming and other processes, which they could because only produced 290 cases have been produced.

Easy to sip during the day or early evening, the 2019 Pinot Noir Rose also comes in at a lighter alcohol level of just 13.2%, similar to many European wines.

FERMENTATION PROCESS

Fermented in stainless steel. After fermentation approximately 20% of the wine was racked to neutral oak barrels with yeast lees left over from fermentation
