Paris Fashion Designer FARHAD RE Releases Latest Eco Responsible Capsule Collection

Parisian fashion designer Farhad Re is incorporating sustainable fashion concepts into his latest collection, and uses pieces from the collection as a canvas to mirror his moods. The fabric colors he uses are 100% vegetable and organic, with 100 % biological pigments.

In Farhad’s atelier in Paris, these colorized dresses allow us to discover new architectural facets thanks to the way they are painted. Shadows and volumes are reflected differently and in a controlled harmony.

In this new Farhad Re Couture Paris collection — created during the COVID lockdown — Farhad‘s muse Galatea escapes from her monochrome universe and discovers a multicolored and hopeful world thanks to the arrival of a vaccine.

As in classical mythology, Galatea rediscovers the Red of Love, the Blue of the Sky, the Green of Hope, and the Yellow of Light and of the Sun. Regardless of a few dark clouds still looming in the distance, Galatea optimistically feels the world is coming back to life.

This Farhad Re collection embodies a rise and escalation of Hope, along with the spirit of eco-responsibility.

Vinfolio Creates a Program to Manage Investments in Fine Wine

Vinfolio, one of the country’s leading fine wine companies, recently announced the launch of a new cutting-edge fine wine investment program. Now, in addition to securing some of the most sought after wines by the bottle, Vinfolio clients can also gain access to a selection of investment-grade stock in original cases directly on the company’s e-commerce platform, or by working directly with Vinfolio’s executive team to build a bespoke fine wine investment portfolio.

From the time of my initial investment in Vinfolio back in 2016, it seemed that the U.S. market was lacking a player who could bring the idea of fine wine as an investment opportunity to the mainstream in a clear and accessible way,” says Don St. Pierre, Executive Chairman of Vinfolio. “Now, with the addition of more than 5,000 cases of investment-grade wines to our platform and the launch of our full-service investment program, we are proudly assuming that mantle.”

Historically speaking, fine wine has outperformed many of the traditional asset classes available and we are seeing more and more people looking to diversify by building a wine portfolio,” Vinfolio President Adam Lapierre says. “We believe we are in a unique position to support clients embarking on this journey thanks to our deep knowledge of the collectible fine wine market, unmatched global network of suppliers and innovative business model. I’m particularly excited by our full-service investment program: the process is extremely simple, fully transparent and, at the same time, low cost to the investor. It’s a game-changer.”

Vinfolio’s strength lies not just in the sourcing of fine wines at the best prices, but also in its use of technology to create a platform that provides both buyers and sellers with all the requisite tools and intelligence to successfully build and liquidate a wine portfolio. In addition to its marketplace platform, Vinfolio has proprietary access to crucial flow-data which lies at the heart of all our decision-making. The company’s algorithm dynamically looks at current U.S. retail listings, auction sale prices, and sales on its own platform to determine what is the current fair market value of a given wine. From there, Vinfolio can trigger buy or sell activities to ensure a sound investment and a healthy return.

Over the last three decades, investment-grade wine has performed very strongly against just about all major asset classes. Analysis of a representative selection of the foremost traded investment-grade wines reveals a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 11 percent since 1988. In context, the returns for U.S. Equities (DJIA), U.K. equities (FTSE), Asia equities (Hang Seng), Gold, and Oil for the same period were materially lower.

ABOUT VINFOLIO

Vinfolio is majority-owned by Executive Chairman Don St. Pierre Jr. and his business partner and good friend Allan Warburg, co-founder and co-CEO of Bestseller Fashion Group China. St. Pierre is the recipient of numerous wine industry accolades, including being named number seven on Decanter magazine’s 2011 Top 50 global wine industry power players and selected by Wine Enthusiast Magazine as the 2011 International Man of the Year. In 2012, the French government awarded St. Pierre Jr. the degree of Knight in the French Ordre du Mérite Agricole, and in 2015, he was appointed as a member of the supervisory board of Vinexpo Overseas. Vinfolio’s ownership also includes Jean-Michel Valette, who chairs the Education and Examination Board (EEB) of the Institute of Masters of Wine and is former chairman of Robert Mondavi Corporation and Peet’s Coffee, Jon Moramarco, former CEO of Constellation Brands, and Steve Case, founder of AOL and co-founder at venture capital firm Revolution

French Fashion Couture House LA METAMORPHOSE Launches Luxury Perfume Collection

French fashion couture house LA METAMORPHOSE launched a new luxury perfume collection, and its theme is based on the numbers that make beauty. Everything in nature is measurable and subject to numbers and a number is the essence of all things. To know the world and its regularity means to know the numbers that rule the world and thus to see the truth about ourselves and our existence.

Pythagoras was the first one to notice the appropriate pitch ratios in musical intervals, explaining them by the fact that music is, in a way, mathematics. The order of the heavens also expressed itself through the musical spectrum. Pythagoras believed that numbers somehow rule the world because different phenomena could be reduced to numerical relations. Hence the numbers that explain the universe.

Based on these concepts, the woman wearing the La Metamorphose No. 4 fragrance is said to be open and willing to discover her place in the universe. Looking for answers, ready for what life and good fortune will bring her. Number four is strength and delicacy encompassed in the secret of life of each of us. Searching for harmony and endlessness of your own soul

In addition, the woman wearing the La Metamorphose No. 6 fragrance is said to be charismatic and courageous, but at the same time realizes everything in a delicate and subtle way, without losing the value of her heart and the openness of her soul and mind. She is mysterious and undiscovered like a flower. Every day she blooms in her femininity again, trying to achieve the most beautiful version of herself, and thus, dazzles and remains eternal.

La Metamorphose 4 description by the Perfumer:

The delicate scent of a blooming rose emphasizes femininity and sensuality, while the jasmine breath of a spring flower takes us to the memories of holidays and moments spent on the French Riviera. La Metamorphose 4 is a fragrance for a delicate and romantic woman who wakes up each morning with a smile on her lips, waiting for what the day will bring her… Maybe a new love, an everlasting romance with life or just beautiful and unforgettable moments…

  • Fragrance Head notes: Rose
  • Middle notes: Lilly of valley
  • Base notes: Jasmin

La Metamorphose 6 description by the Perfumer:

A classic rose, complemented by the sweetness of lilies, provides the basis for elegance that lasts forever. On the other hand, jasmine, filled with the dryness of wood, adds class and sophistication to a woman who wears this perfume. La Metamorphose 6 is a fragrance for a self-confident woman who pursues her goals and realizes all her plans. Charismatic and courageous, but at the same time executing everything in a subtle way, without losing the delicacy of the heart and open-mindedness. She is mysterious and undiscovered like a flower, as she blooms in her femininity every day, striving to achieve the most beautiful version of herself.

Word of the Day: How to Pronounce Aioli

There is always great pleasure in knowing the correct pronunciation of a word you use in front of other people, both friends and colleagues. Unfortunately the real world challenge comes from whether they also know how to correctly pronounce it, and in which region you are. The last thing you want is to misled even further.

Aioli is a good example. It is word both French and Spanish, and means “garlic” and “oil,” which are the two key ingredients.

So for the record:

AMERICA (often more like “aye-oh-lee, but can be the European version as well)

EUROPE (always more like “eye-oh-lee”)

Just in case you are curious, here’s the Australian pronunciation

Italian Fashion Designer FARHAD RE premieres Capsule Collection “Le dernier papillon au monde” in Paris

FARHAD RE

Roman-born designer Farhad Re debuted his newest collection in a series of artistic photographs set in a natural environment and entitled, “Le dernier papillon au monde,” which translates as the Last Butterfly in the World.

Showing now in Paris, Farhad is a darling of the European fashion set, designing elegant compositions for celebrity names such as Ursula Andress, Catherine Deneuve, and Princess Soraya.

His latest collection, featuring model Tiffany Fournier, includes a poetic statement that places it in context.

Le dernier Papillon au Monde, The Last Butterfly in the World

“Faced with the disastrous state of the planet, trying to make fashion virtuous, from its production to its distribution, is no longer enough … We must scream, while nature is dying, silently.

A symbol. This is how Farhad Re wanted this capsule collection, recalling that without nature, culture would not exist. A flutter of butterfly wings capable of triggering a tornado halfway around the world? The metaphor is worn, knowing that he is the only man responsible for the annihilation of the living … What will happen then when the last wing flap of the last butterfly in the world occurs?

Hope is in art. Three months of work were necessary for each creation, entirely cut, painted and embroidered by hand … By transforming the woman in the most majestic of insects, sublime chrysalis with bright and iridescent hues, emerging from pollution like a purified renewal in creations made of silk organza and integrating recycled plastic, seeming to come alive when worn, like an extension of the flesh, – perfect fusion between the woman and what clothes her – Farhad Re wants to believe in the heralding vital forces more radiant auspices, and delivers us an essential message: beauty alone can save the world.”
