After releasing her debut international single Livin’ the Life, co-written by highly sought-after music producer Jim Beanz and later remixed by popular Dutch DJ Afrojack, the singer/song writer recently released her newest single Meant to Be. Birla’s latest dance track is shaping up to be another mega hit for the fast-rising pop sensation already becoming certified gold and her sensational music video generating almost 7 million views on YouTube in a mere 2 months. Ananya has always had a penchant for doing things differently, and as she taught herself to play the guitar using internet video tutorials, she created a love affair with music that only grew as time passed.

Before realizing her true talent and passion for music, Ananya had already cut out a spot for herself among the elite in the business world. While most teenagers at the age of 17 are getting ready to graduate high school and find their path in life, Ananya was creating her first start-up, Svatantra Microfinance. With a strong vision for helping the poor become economically self-sustainable, Ananya created the microfinance organization to support women entrepreneurs in the Indian rural areas to further grow their business. As of April 2016, the company had grown to more than 600 employees across 70 branches in four Indian states, and won the Gold Award for Best Start-Up. A woman with no limits, Ananya’s second business, CuroCarte, curates rare, high quality, handicrafts designed for the 21st century luxe society from across the globe and makes them accessible through an e-commerce platform.

Travis Marsh, “Don’t Call Me”: MCVA Best Love Song Award Winner

TasteTV and the MUSIC CALIFORNIA VIDEO AWARDS announced that Travis Marsh, “Don’t Call Me” is  the Best Love Song Award Winner for the MUSIC CALIFORNIA VIDEO AWARDS.

Travis Marsh comes from Southern California, but don’t mistake him for a Los Angeles native: the singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist grew up in the town of Camarillo, about 45 minutes north of the city. Camarillo is an agricultural area, and without the distractions of an urban environment, Marsh says “There really isn’t much to do besides lock yourself in a room and play music all day.”

In an interview with AXS.com, Marsh said, “I’ve always viewed songwriters as the therapists for the public. I think a great songwriter is someone that has mastered the art of tapping into our deepest inner emotions and memories. They can bring you back to moments in your life and then they become a part of you.”

He takes influences from bands like The Eagles, Pink Floyd, and the Avett Brothers; stellar songwriters like Bob Dylan and Ryan Adams; and the old troubadours like Jackson Browne and Joni Mitchell. It’s a melting pot of styles that doesn’t fit into a single genre box, but sun-bleached California pop mixed with a heavy dose of desert country-rock comes close.

The MUSIC CALIFORNIA VIDEO AWARDS show takes place in one of San Francisco’s unique music venues, Neck of the Woods, and is an amazing evening bringing together music videos, musician appearances, fans, and of course music video awards.

Meresha, “Enter The Dreamland”: MCVA Viewers Choice Award Winner

TasteTV and the MUSIC CALIFORNIA VIDEO AWARDS announced that Meresha, “Enter The Dreamland” is one of the Viewers Choice Award Winners for the MUSIC CALIFORNIA VIDEO AWARDS.

The Viewers Choice Awards were voted on by viewers, fans and social media followers, and share the honor among the Top 6 vote-getters.

Young indie singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Meresha takes her influence from the likes of Robert Plant, Joss Stone, Freddie Mercury, Hayley Williams, James Blake, Prince, and Björk.

With a handful of music videos under her belt already, Meresha’s music has reached the Billboard Top 40 charts three times already, as well as being aired in many countries, including on various MTV properties. “New Revolution” held the #1 spot for an indie song on US radio for an entire month, and in December 2016 she was named the #6 global emerging artist on Billboard’s Next Big Sound. Recently, she’s been featured on Spotify’s Discover Weekly and Release Radar playlists, as well as on iTunes.

Meresha newest EP is called “Enter the Dreamland.” She partnered with multi-Grammy winner Joe Chiccarelli for the EP, and for the title track’s music video she once again worked with five time MTV VMA nominee David Rousseau (Pitbull, Magic!, Enrique Iglesias, LMFAO, Christian Aguilera, Lil’ Wayne). The “Enter the Dreamland” music video was filmed in Los Angeles and Malibu. The video opens with Meresha singing and performing in the basin of the Los Angeles River, when suddenly a door appears. She opens the door, and is transported to a secluded spot on the beach- a small slice of paradise, as the waves crash onto the sand and a gentle breeze blows through her signature purple hair.
