TasteTV’s new series MUSIC CALIFORNIA Launches

TasteTV is proud to announce that it’s newest television series, MUSIC CALIFORNIA, debuts on KRCB Television in the San Francisco Bay Area, Wine Country, and various locations in Northern California.

MUSIC CALIFORNIA features music, performances, and videos by artists from, in, or about California, the Golden State.

The program plays on selected Saturday nights at 11pm and 11:30pm, and the first two episodes include music by the following:

X-Men Spinoff TV Series Coming, GIFTED, and Here is the Trailer

The world is full of mutants, according to the Marvel Universe that is home to the X-Men franchise. Now after the success of the movie LOGAN, as well as the acclaimed television series LEGION, the deck is being played completely with another spinoff, GIFTED.

The trailer is enticing, and the title, GIFTED, is a way to imply that being different isn’t necessarily a curse.

Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style Exhibit at the VMFA

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) in Richmond, Virginia is hosting the Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style exhibit in the summer 2017.

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts will become home to the distinguished Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style exhibit. This one-of-a-kind exhibit showcases selections from the legendary designer’s 44-year career, drawn from the collection of the Fondation Pierre Bergé with new acquisitions that have never been shown publicly before. The exhibit includes 100 examples of haute couture and ready-to-wear garments revealing Saint Laurent’s artistic genius, as well as his working process, and the sources of his design inspiration.

VMFA is the only East Coast venue for the exhibition. In addition to haute couture ensembles and ready-to-wear clothing, Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style includes costume jewelry and other accessories, photographs, drawings, films, and video from the Fondation’s vast archive. The exhibit will run through the end of August.

Billabong Collaboration With Andy Warhol: Warhol Surf

Billabong has released Warhol Surf, an exclusive apparel and accessory collaboration with one of the world’s most iconic artists, Andy Warhol. The collaboration comes through Billabong LAB, a division of the company that supports artists, musicians, designers, photographers and surf icons, and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, a non-profit organization recognized as one of the leading funders of contemporary art in the United States.

Warhol once said “I came out of the womb on a surfboard.” Warhol Surf showcases Andy Warhol’s little-known fascination with surf culture and is rooted in a mutual desire to challenge convention – a driving force found in both Warhol’s work and Billabong’s product innovation. The collaboration comes as a natural evolution of Billabong’s rich history in partnering with the most influential artists, including Bob Marley and Metallica.

“Warhol’s rebellious spirit and attraction to non-conformists led him to Southern California in 1968 where he spent two weeks filming surfers as part of his underground film, San Diego Surf. The Foundation is proud to collaborate with Billabong to celebrate individuals who refuse to be defined by convention,” says Michael Dayton Hermann, The Andy Warhol Foundation’s Director of Licensing.

The AMERICAN GODS series Trailer Leaves You in Anticipation

There is very little question that if you’ve never watched the STARZ cable network, you might be about to start. That’s because the trailer for their new series, AMERICAN GODS, leaves you waiting in anticipation.

Based on the Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel by English author Neil Gaiman, also famous for the “Sandman” graphic novel series, the series focuses on the ongoing but hidden battle between the Old Gods and the New (Technology-spawned) Gods.
